Jason Trawick will soon become Britney Spears‘ husband and now he hopes to also take on a legal role in her life as well.
E! News reports that Trawick, 40, has filed papers to petition to be added by a California court as one of the singer’s conservators.

If his petition is approved, Trawick — who began dating Spears, 30, in 2009 — will have control over her well-being, while her father, Jamie, will retain full control over her finances. Jamie Spears has held legal control over his songbird daughter and her millions since 2008.

Spears and Trawick, her former manager, got engaged last December. “He makes me laugh, and we are so comfortable being ourselves,” Spears has said of her guy. “I’ve never been happier.”
